It is with great sadness the Needham Soccer Club learned of the passing of one of our volunteer coaches this past weekend.
Jeff Sirlin, a coach of 8 seasons with NSC, including the current Spring season, passed away on April 26th.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Marisa Jaffe and father of Noah. Devoted son of Ellen and Roger Sirlin. Loving brother to Cliff Sirlin and his wife Sue, and Robin Polin and her husband Russell. Treasured brother-in-law of Sara Jaffe and David Ostroff, and adored son-in-law of Miriam and Jerry Ballan. Cherished uncle to Zac, Grant, Rachel, Kayla, Hannah, and Nora.
For the Needham Soccer Club, Jeff coached his son Noah from our 1st Grade NSC Junior Academy program through to 4th grade this Spring. As well as Noah, Jeff was a fantastic coach and role model to many other children that were fortunate enough to play on his teams with NSC. Jeff’s coaching style and dedication to giving players a fun team experience while learning the game embodies all that we are about as a club, and all that we aspire our volunteer coaches to be.
All at NSC send our condolences and thoughts to Jeff’s family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Temple Beth Shalom in Needham or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
