As the town of Needham celebrated the 4th of July with it’s annual parade last Wednesday, 12 of Needham Soccer Club’s teams represented NSC and prepared for a celebration of their own.
The “Parade of Champions”! An idea thought up by the clubs Executive Director, Mark Miskin, is now in it’s second year and becoming a new NSC tradition of celebrating the club and most importantly, the players, as the 12 teams marched through town holding their Championship Banners with pride!
“I think it’s a really cool and unique idea” Said Matt Murray, the Director of Coaching for NSC who is still in his first year with the club and just finished his first spring season. “It’s a great way to celebrate the success stories of our teams and players no doubt, and to be able to reward our kids for all their hard work. Personally I hope it really does more than that for our players as it is truly a unique opportunity to bring the club and community together outside of the playing field and gives the kids a chance to celebrate their with entire town. Hopefully it will instill a sense of pride for not only what they have accomplished but for where, how and with whom they accomplished it with. It’s truly something special and really not something that can be easily duplicated anywhere else.”
