When our teams took to the field on Monday, April 1st 2019, for the first day of practice they officially kicked off the beginning of the 50th season since Bill Middleton, Sandy Stewart and Stan Willox formally established what was the Needham Junior Soccer Association as Needham Soccer Club!
What started out as just 2 teams at the BU14 and BU16 age group has expanded quite extensively to include over 120 teams for both boys and girls from the U7 – U18 age group, playing in 3 different leagues. In that time the club has added not one, but 2 in-town leagues, to build what has become one of the largest in-house soccer programs at the town level with currently 90 teams practicing and playing every week against one another.
In order to keep up with the ever changing landscape and high demand for the game of soccer within the Needham Community, NSC has expanded it’s operations to include 4 staff members and 13 board members that help to run the club that consistently has well over 1,600 players every season.
Adding on top of all that, Needham Soccer Club runs the Needham Memorial Day Tournament for the past 42 years, a tournament that from 2014 – 2016 grew to be the Largest Soccer Tournament in North America with over 1128 teams participating!
NSC is looking forward to making its 50th season one to remember so stay tuned and follow us on our social media accounts to keep up to date with all the 2019 season has to offer!!
