Each fall season, Needham Soccer Club NORMALLY holds 1 open tryout for all of our Current 3rd Grade players.
In a non-covid year, NSC Coaches would have already selected a second 4th Grade team, a third 6th Grade team and added players to our rising 5th grade teams as they move from 7v7 to 9v9 and roster sizes increase.
However due to the cancelled Spring 2020 season and inability to hold our usual tryouts at that time, NSC made the decision to delay adding those teams and players until we could get back to playing this fall.
As a result, we will be holding tryouts this fall for these new 3rd, 4th & 6th grade teams as well as holding selection meetings for 3rd – 6th grade for both boys and girls. This will provide our coaches an opportunity to discuss the development of their players, evaluate where they have been placed, make changes to existing travel rosters (if coaches feel necessary) and select these new teams ahead of the Spring 2021 season!
All Current NSCCL Coaches are invited & strongly encouraged to attend the Travel Team Selection Meeting where they have an opportunity to give input and provide feedback on players on their team as well as players they have played against or coached in previous season.
Slated Head Coach discusses with the room & reviews both the Tryout Data & Coaches Evaluation forms to help in selecting the Travel Team roster.
MUST BE A CURRENT COACH OF SPECIFIC AGE GROUP IN ORDER TO ATTEND A SELECTION MEETING!

ALL 3 – 8th GRADE COACHES SHOULD SEND PLAYER EVALUATIONS FOR ANY PLAYER THEY FEEL HAS BEEN MISPLACED THIS FALL SEASON BY NOVEMBER 2nd! I.E A PLAYER SHOULD MOVE UP OR MOVE DOWN! If a player seemingly “fits” the level of play on your team, coaches do NOT need to fill out an evaluation!
