Dear NSC Families,
I am sending this note to provide an update on the status of the Spring soccer activities of Needham Soccer Club (NSC).
NSC was notified that the Boston Area Youth Soccer League (BAYS) has decided to cancel its Spring 2020 schedule. This decision comes soon after Governor Charlie Baker announced that all the public and private schools in Massachusetts will remain closed through the end of June.
As a result of these decisions by Governor Baker and BAYS, along with the ongoing health concerns associated with COVID-19, NSC has concluded that the most appropriate course of action is to cancel all soccer programs and activities for the Spring 2020 season.
With the expectation and hope to return to normal activities soon, NSC will open registration for the Fall 2020 season on June 1st. Prior to that opening, NSC will provide you with information about how to get a refund for the Spring 2020 fees you have already paid, and/or how to apply those fees to the Fall 2020 season. All fees received for players currently in eighth grade and high school will be refunded in the coming weeks. Additionally, all fees received for the Skills Academy will be refunded.

NSC will be providing more information about travel team tryouts and the travel team selection process once more information is available regarding the club’s access to fields in June.
Matt Murray (doc@needhmasoccer.com) will be providing virtual training sessions in the weeks ahead to keep the players connected with their teammates and playing soccer during this challenging time. Please be on the lookout for detailed information about these sessions.
Until then, we appreciate your continued patience and understanding as we navigate all the challenges associated with this pandemic. We hope everyone stays healthy and safe during this extremely difficult time.
