The holiday weekend saw a number of our travel teams in action at the 35th Natick Columbus Day Tournament. Kicking off on Friday night and playing in a mix of conditions throughout the weekend, including heavy downpour through Sunday, and finishing with no fewer than seven NSC teams advancing into the play off rounds on Monday.

Congratulations to GU12 United (pictured above), coached by Jimmy McShane, who finished the weekend as Champions of the their bracket with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Newton.

Our other GU12 team also had a great weekend with Coach Dave Reidell’s Galaxy (pictured below) making the final, only to be on the wrong side of a 2-1 game against the hosts Natick.

Elsewhere, GU14 Rebels (pictured below), coached by Tim Dasey  had a great run, more than holding their own and beating teams from higher BAYS divisions en route to the final. Unfortunately the Rebels came up against a tough opponent and fell 5-0 to Longmeadow St. Catherine’s.

Special mentions for BU12 Force, BU11 Warriors, GU14 Lightning and GU14 Spurs (pictured below), all of whom progressed from the group stage, and were beaten semi finalists.
