Spring 2010 Needham Soccer Registration

Children age 3rd grade to 12th grade who live or attend school in Needham are eligible to play in the Spring 2010 Needham Soccer season

The registration deadline is FRIDAY October 30^th

WE ARE STRICTLY ENFORCING OUR REGISTRATION DEADLINES.  YOU WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED A ROSTER SPOT ON A TRAVEL TEAM IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE REGISTRATION BY THAT DATE

After that date registration will remain open UNTIL NOVEMBER 30^th , HOWEVER a NON-REFUNDABLE $100 late fee will be added to your registration fees and NO Guarantee that a roster spot will be available. *Registration for spring travel soccer for grades 9 to 12 ONLY is open until 2/1/2010*

We do NOT accept paper registration forms.  You MUST complete the online registration

To Register: 

If you are already a user of the Got Soccer website, do NOT create a new account.  

• Simply go to www.gotsoccer.com and LOGIN to the FAMILY account you created last summer by entering your username and password.  OR go to our home page www.needhamsoccer.com and click on the link to register a PLAYER.
• If you cannot remember your password, it can be emailed to you by following the instructions and clicking on the link displayed.
• Needham Soccer club offers 2 programs in most age groups.  DO NOT register for BOTH travel and non-travel.  Select one program for each child.  If you are currently on a travel team roster, select “travel” option.  If your child is currently on a non-travel roster, please select “non-travel”.  We will hold tryouts again in June for all age groups.
• If you wish to register and then tryout for the U9 (3^rd grade) travel team, then select TRAVEL option.  MUST be completed BY 10/16/09.

If you are a First-Time user of the site

• Create a FAMILY account for yourself
• Then add PLAYERS.  This is where you enter your child’s information.   
• Be sure to enter birthdays correctly as the system offers programs based on the birthdate you enter.   Needham Soccer club offers 2 programs in some age groups.  DO NOT register for BOTH travel and non-travel.  Select one program for each child. 
• If you are new to the club, please mail a copy (not original) of your child’s birth certificate to us at Needham Soccer Club, PO Box 920580, Needham, MA 02492
    

Complete all the fields on the player information page and press submit.

• There is a section in the online registration process to indicate any special requests.  We consider all requests entered this way, however we CANNOT grant all of them.  As we do not have our field schedule until just before the season – requests for specific practice nights will NOT be entertained.
• If your child is currently on a fall travel team, select travel program; if your child is currently on a fall NSCCL team, please select non-travel program.
• High School age players (U15 to U18) may register for spring travel teams until 2/1/2010
• U9 players (3^rd graders) have the option to register for travel OR non-travel teams.  We will hold tryouts on October 17^th and then select travel teams in November for that age group.  If you register for travel, and then are NOT selected, your child will be notified via email and placed on a non-travel team.
• Please note that even if you have completed and submitted your registration, you can always login to your account and update ANY of your information including the special requests, email address changes, etc. 
• We do not accept special requests by email or phone
   

WE ACCEPT Visa or MasterCard or Discover CREDIT CARD or you can select “pay by eCheck”.  There is no longer an option to mail a check to us.

• We offer scholarships to those in need.
• Fees:    $170 for the first & $170 for the second child in your family.  Discounts available for subsequent registrations.

Registration closes on October 30, 2009. There will be a NON-REFUNDALBE $100 late fee assessed for those who register AFTER 10/30; Those players will be placed on a waitlist and no guarantee that you will be placed on a roster.

(except for grades 9-12 who can register until 2/1/2010 without late fees)

Requests for refund must be submitted to the office (not a coach or Board member).  No Refunds will be issued after February 1st.  Our complete refund policy is located on our website.

Special Circumstances

Scholarships

If you wish to request a scholarship, please complete the online registration form and select the “scholarship request” Program.  Then email the club at admin@needhamsoccer.com to let them know of your scholarship request.  You will be notified upon approval of the request.

Family Discounts

If you are going to be registering three or more players for the spring program, please fill out the online registration as normal.  Once you add the 3^rd registration, the fees are reduced.

Residence Waivers

If you DO NOT live in Needham, but attend school in Needham and wish to play, we will gladly apply for the required waiver from Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS).  Once they grant a waiver you will be eligible to play. 

“Playing Up” with your grade

• Please refer to the table below to ascertain your child's “Soccer Age”.
• The only exceptions that can be made are called “playing up” with your grade. 
• For children born in August after the 7/31 cutoff date of a given year but BEFORE 8/31 of that year, if they are young for their grade, they may apply for a waiver. 
• Email the office to receive the age waiver form. 
• You must also submit a copy of your child’s report card as proof of their grade in school. 
• No other exceptions can be made for any reason. 
• Children born after August 31, 2000 are not eligible for the 2010 spring season.

Managers, Coaches & Volunteers

NSC could not run without dedicated volunteers of all types. Parents are needed to help coach, manage teams (paperwork, phone calls, etc.), and to organize and staff tournaments.

• More information about coaching and tournaments is provided in other sections of our website.
• Parents interested in volunteering should fill out the online volunteer/coaching application online.   Go to www.needhamsoccer.com and click on the link in the center of the home page that says “Click Here to register Coaches, Assistants, Team Managers, Tournament Volunteers”
• Select the division (age and gender) that you wish to volunteer for and complete all the required fields.  If you wish to volunteer for multiple ages and genders, then indicate that in the comments section.

We actively solicit our parents to act as coaches and assistant coaches. The state requires all adult volunteers (board members, coaches and assistant coaches) to undergo a CORI (Criminal background) check.

• No volunteer is allowed on the field for games or practices without a completed CORI. 
• CORI checks are NOT required annually.  If you have completed a CORI check since June 1, 2006 you do not need to complete the form again unless the Mass Youth Soccer office requests it. 
• The online CORI check is done through the state soccer office at www.mayouthsoccer.org  (Mass Youth Soccer).
