Originally from the South Coast of England, Mark played soccer from a young age. Mark played at junior and youth level as a goalkeeper, and captain with both competitive club and school teams, as well as representing the county of Sussex up to U19. Mark moved into Senior soccer at the age of 17 and went on to play 4 years at Bournemouth University while attaining a Business Studies Degree.
Mark moved into coaching initially as a volunteer with local youth teams in England and came to the US in 2010 to work for MLS Camps, before switching to Mass Premier Soccer (MPS) a year later. Through Needham Soccer Club's partnership with MPS, Mark was as our PDO (Program Development Officer) for two seasons, a position which saw him work with all our teams and coaches over the course of the season. Mark moved on to MPS sister club NHPSA (New Hampshire Premier Soccer Academy) where he was responsible for the running and operation of a 1,000 player recreation program, as well as coaching a number NHPSA Premier Club Teams.
Mark brings experience of coaching players and teams from U5 all the way through U19 and senior teams. He holds both English and US coaching licenses, including Goalkeeping specific licenses. He returns to Needham in the position of Full Time Director of Coaching, which will see him work exclusively with Needham teams, players and coaches. Off the field Mark will work closely with Members of the Board of Directors and our Executive Director and Club Administrator of the Needham Soccer Club.
